Answers for Law Firms Hiring Remote Legal Support

Straight answers about roles, vetting, pricing, interviews, onboarding and working with a remote legal professional.

Getting started

What is Virtual Legal Assistants?

Virtual Legal Assistants helps U.S. law firms hire pre-vetted, remote legal-support professionals based primarily in Latin America. The focused network includes virtual legal assistants, legal assistants, intake specialists, receptionists, case managers and administrative assistants.

How does matching work?

We begin with a short consultation about the tasks, schedule, practice environment and software. We then screen the available network and typically send a tailored shortlist within 24 hours.

Can we interview candidates first?

Yes. You review profiles and interview the candidates you select. You can also request an additional role-specific exercise before making a decision.

How quickly can someone start?

Shortlists are usually delivered within 24 hours. Start dates depend on your interview timing, systems access and onboarding requirements, but many placements can begin within a few days.

Roles and vetting

Which roles can we hire?

You can hire virtual legal assistants, legal assistants, legal intake specialists, law-firm receptionists, legal case managers and legal administrative assistants.

How are candidates vetted?

We review relevant work history, professional English, communication, role knowledge and software experience. Background and credential checks are completed before placement.

Can you match candidates to our legal software?

Yes. Tell us which systems you use—such as Clio, MyCase, Filevine, CASEpeer, SmartAdvocate or Smokeball—and we will prioritize candidates with practical experience in that stack.

Are bilingual candidates available?

Yes. Many professionals in the network are fluent in English and Spanish, and bilingual ability can be made a requirement for your shortlist.

Where are candidates located?

The focused talent pool is primarily based in Latin America, providing strong working-hour overlap with U.S. law firms.

Pricing and engagement

What does hiring cost?

Legal support starts from $12 per hour. Exact pricing depends on the role, experience, schedule and software requirements, and is confirmed before you interview.

Is there a deposit or placement fee?

No deposit is required. You pay only after choosing a candidate and beginning the engagement.

How does billing work?

Engagements are billed monthly at the agreed rate. Your proposal sets out the working schedule and included services before the placement starts.

What operational support is included?

Contracting, international payroll and ongoing placement support are included. Your firm remains responsible for role supervision, system permissions and legal work product.

Can we change or expand the role later?

Yes. You can discuss changes in hours, responsibilities or additional hires as your caseload and operating needs evolve.
